Thank you, Linda. You have captured the whole arc of a life here in this poem, of many if not most women's lives—I recognize here friends and relatives, and also myself, where I am heading. Much of its effectiveness comes not just from the content but from the way you frame it, and how the poem unfolds, at each stage a challenge to the reader: consider this, but don't stop, now consider this. ...

Wow. Brilliant poem by Linda Laderman. If I were still teaching, I would use to help students understand the power of the carefully crafted list, and how important a pivot can be in funneling those lists into a final, resonant image.
