Nancy Huggett is a settler descendant who writes, lives, and caregives on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation (Ottawa, Canada). Thanks to Firefly Creative, Merritt Writers, and not-the-rodeo poets, she has work published in EVENT, Gone Lawn, One Art, Pinhole, Rust & Moth, and The New Quarterly.

I am enamored of this world. This poems' resonance and austere language. Thank you!
I thought Taos was as in 'ism' until I researched Agnes Martin. Minimalist? I think she'd say 'the less said the better'. As a (n electric) guitarist I understand 'Tremolo' in my own way - though it looks like vibrato and I can't know if she'd got anything remotely like that in mind (or wherever it is inspiration comes). Funny how ()s are so trendy we make special cases for unecessary ones.
I think I get it in my britwantstogotosanfrancisco way because I read Ferlinghetti and I think I get how he gets things like Paris 1968. Ergo a lass who clears off into the wild in 67 might have that sort of thing on her mind. I think any or all kinds of creators might agree how being alone takes away unwanted noise. We need time to turn things over and digest them - so a constant stream like a city would make us burst.
Odd perhaps that I've grasped more about Martin than Hugget - or was it clever of Hugget to be so transparent we only saw what she showed us? Urgh, did I just write a critique? Send him to his room. Please...
